You Can do Anything is a story about a social work investigation into children in need that misses the point of what is happening. The story follows a family of three children over many chapters of their lives. It addresses issues of mental health, isolation, being a young carer, educational achievement and making a difference in the world. The story was co-created by Cath Larkins from interviews conducted with children and young people who had found ways through the challenges life had thrown at them. Advisors to the story writing ensured accuracy within the social and cultural contexts described. The story has been and can be used in advanced training for social workers and with social work students. Contact CLarkins@uclan.ac.uk for further information about bespoke training.
